These professionals work to ensure the health and well-being of incarcerated individuals, often under challenging conditions and with unique patient populations. The role can include doctors, nurses, mental health counselors, and other allied health staff who address both acute and chronic health needs, manage infectious disease control, and support rehabilitation efforts. Their work is essential for maintaining public health standards and supporting the rights of inmates to receive adequate healthcare.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a correctional health nurse, and why are they important?
