Job description

The Machine Trainer plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring that machinery is properly set up, calibrated, and operated. This position is responsible for training production staff and customers on the safe, efficient, and effective use of equipment, contributing directly to productivity, safety, and quality on the production floor.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Set up and configure manufacturing machines to meet specific production requirements.
  • Train operators on proper machine usage, safety protocols, and preventive maintenance routines.
  • Work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to develop and maintain machine training materials and documentation.
  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), training records, and machine settings for future reference.
  • Provide refresher training and evaluate operator performance to ensure ongoing compliance and proficiency.
  • Reinforce adherence to all safety guidelines and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Support efforts to reduce machine downtime and improve operational efficiency through effective training
  • Report equipment malfunctions or training gaps to appropriate personnel.

Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
  • Proficient in machine setup, adjustment, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing safety standards and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience delivering hands-on training.
  • Basic computer literacy for documentation and tracking training completion.
  • Previous experience in a machine trainer or lead operator role.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with specific equipment used in the facility (e.g., CNC machinery, robotic systems, presses).
