Corporate Strategy Analyst I: $61,000 - 76,300
Corporate Strategy Analyst II: $74,700 - $93,400
Sr Corporate Strategy Analyst: $94,600 - $126,100
Lead Corporate Strategy Analyst: $111,400 - $148,500

Job Description Summary:
The Corporate Strategy Analyst is responsible for assisting with the thought-leadership, development, and execution of Evergy's corporate strategy, initiative planning, and performance management.
Success in this role requires strong cross-functional leadership, the ability to influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups, and the capability to advance complex projects in situations where processes, requirements, and responsibilities may still be developing. The individual must be comfortable operating in ambiguity, identifying gaps, establishing structure, and driving alignment to achieve customer and company objectives.
This role will report to the Mgr. Corporate Strategy and Sustainability and will work closely with co-workers at all levels across the company including members of director-level leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities
    Lead elements of the annual corporate strategy refresh process, such as the identification of key industry/business trends and development of Evergy's corresponding points of view and refinement of Evergy's strategic initiatives.
    Partner in formulating Evergy's corporate strategy by working with business unit leaders in order to gain alignment and traction. 
    Build relationships with leaders across the organization to develop and execute Evergy's strategy efficiently and effectively.
    Performs business environment scans to identify events and trends of strategic significance
    Conduct targeted data analysis and develop insights in order to create understanding of technologies and industry dynamics, as well as future product, policy, technical, and technology needs.
    Develop and maintain competitive analysis relative to peers and other potential market participants.
    Research and compile results for internal information requests, company profiles, and strategic analysis for executives. Research, analyze, and create comparison studies, such as utility rankings and corporate efficiency metrics.
    Translate market research data to identify customer, industry, and technology trends and assess business/market prospects.
    Maintain Corporate Strategy Dashboard, including developing new visuals for emerging factors and metrics.  Assist in reducing data silos across the business and work closely with Evergy's operations analytics, electrification, and regulatory teams to bring consensus and executive visibility into high-priority metrics.
    Identify, evaluate, and utilize AI-enabled technologies and automation tools to enhance business processes, improve departmental efficiency, support time management, and strengthen the quality and speed of analysis, reporting, and decision support activities.
    Support the Sustainability team, as needed, through research, analysis, reporting, project coordination, and development of materials related to company sustainability initiatives and disclosures.
    Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
 

Education and Experience Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.  MBA preferred.
    Intermediate level: 2-3 years of utility or energy business experience with exposure to multiple business functions. Emphasis on strategy and business planning and process design and implementation desired. 
    Senior level: 4-5 years utility or energy business experience with exposure to multiple business functions.  Detailed knowledge of Energy Industry and Evergy's business functions is desirable.  Previous experience in project management or team leadership are preferred. 

Licenses, Certification, Bonding, and/or Testing: A valid driver's license is required.

Working Conditions:
Office conditions with continual visual attention to performing work with a high degree completeness, accuracy and quality. Occasional travel is required. Position requires work beyond normal working hours depending on workload and project deadlines. Must have a satisfactory work record including excellent attendance.
