Job description

Area Business Transient Sales Manager

As the Area Business Transient Sales Manager, you will drive business transient, corporate, negotiated-rate, and extended-stay revenue across a portfolio of three hotels: Hilton Pennywell, Homewood Suites Galleria, and TownePlace Suites Brentwood. You’ll build relationships with local and regional businesses, proactively identify new opportunities, and strategically match clients with the hotel that best fits their travel needs.

This role reports to the Director of Sales / Area Director of Sales and works closely with hotel leadership, Revenue Management, Sales, Operations, and HVMG’s commercial team.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Area Business Transient Sales Manager, your day-to-day responsibilities will include proactively prospecting for new corporate and extended‑stay accounts, developing relationships with key decision‑makers, and growing production from existing negotiated accounts.

You’ll solicit and manage Local Negotiated Rate (LNR), dynamic corporate rate, volume, and preferred‑hotel agreements while representing both Hilton and Marriott brands. You’ll also conduct outside sales calls, client visits, hotel tours, and property presentations to build awareness and generate new business.

A big part of this role will be identifying extended‑stay and relocation opportunities, including project, crew, training, consulting, healthcare, and corporate relocation business. You’ll build relationships with relocation companies, corporate housing providers, staffing agencies, project managers, and HR/mobility contacts while partnering with Revenue Management to develop competitive rates.

Because you’ll represent three different hotels across two brands, you’ll become an expert at understanding each property’s strengths and matching the right hotel to each client based on trip purpose, length of stay, rate, amenities, room type, and availability. You’ll also identify opportunities to cross‑sell between the properties and maximize overall portfolio revenue.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves the “hunter” side of sales but also enjoys building long‑term client relationships. You’ll have the opportunity to develop experience across multiple brands, property types, and business segments while building a strong foundation for continued growth within hotel sales.

Education & Experience

Hotel experience is always a plus! Applicants should have:

  • 2–3 years of hotel sales, business travel/transient sales, corporate sales, account management, or related B2B sales experience
  • Proven ability to prospect for new business and develop long‑term client relationships
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple properties and priorities
  • Ability to analyze sales activity, account production, and revenue performance
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with the ability to travel between the three hotels and client locations

Previous experience with Hilton and/or Marriott, Local Negotiated Rate accounts, extended‑stay sales, hotel sales systems, or multi‑property sales is preferred. A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is also preferred.

Essentials

To be a successful candidate, you will need the following:

  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Sufficient education and/or literacy needed to communicate effectively with clients, hotel teams, and business partners.
  • The ability to see, hear, talk, sit, stand, walk, drive, handle objects, bend, kneel, stoop, and perform other functions needed for the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to travel regularly between the three hotels, client offices, and networking events within the local market.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on client and business needs.
  • Ability to embrace HVMG’s Culture of Excellence by showing a warm smile, friendly personality, and positive attitude.

Our Associates Love

  • Amazing opportunities for career advancement across HVMG
  • Flexible full‑time and part‑time schedules
  • Up to 40% earned wages paid BEFORE payday with PayActive
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays
  • Full Healthcare Benefits (including medical, dental, and vision coverage)
  • 401k Retirement Plan with a guaranteed 4% match and no vesting
  • Hotel and Food and Beverage Discounts and Perks

Careers at HVMG

Our Be Excellent culture is more than just words on a website -- we live and breathe it. As one associate said in an anonymous survey, “This is the best management company I’ve ever worked for. They walk the talk from the corporate office to the field.”

We believe that the hotel business is one of the few industries in which successful career paths can start anywhere on the org chart. You control your destiny, and, if our executives are any indication, today’s dishwasher can be tomorrow’s Senior Vice President.

An Equal Opportunity Employer

We provide equal opportunity without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, marital status, or disability.
