About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team and play a key role in supporting AutoPak's financial operations and continued growth.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting and compliance, overseeing cost accounting activities, and providing meaningful financial insights to management. This position will also work closely with all departments, making it an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with experience in a manufacturing or project-based environment.
What You'll Do
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Monitor key accounting activities, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and support cash flow management.
  • Monitor costs and expenses to promote the efficient use of company resources.
  • Partner with management to provide financial analysis and insights that support business decisions.
  • Support project budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis.
  • Oversee cost accounting activities, including the accurate tracking of production costs, overhead, and inventory valuation.
  • Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Collaborate with Production and Operations teams to identify and evaluate cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support and maintain effective inventory control processes and analyze inventory data to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Conduct internal financial reviews to promote accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
  • Support the preparation and filing of applicable tax returns and ensure compliance with local and federal requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, promoting accurate and timely completion of accounting activities.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing, engineering, or project-based environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and accounting practices.
  • Experience with cost accounting and inventory management.
  • Experience working with ERP and accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA certification and/or MBA.
  • Previous accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting project-based financial reporting, budgeting, or forecasting.
