Job description

Position Overview
Guaranty Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the Company's financial records, supporting month-end close activities, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and providing financial insights to business leaders. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic initiatives and process improvement efforts in a dynamic media environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Execute month-end and year-end close activities as assigned by the Corporate Controller
  • Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded and maintained in accordance with GAAP
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances to support accurate reporting
  • Partner with business unit management to provide financial insights, support operational decision-making, and assist with forecasting and budgeting activities
  • Process accounts payable transactions for assigned business units, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packages
  • Support internal and external audit activities by preparing requested documentation and analyses
  • Assists in monitoring and improving accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Controller on strategic initiatives, system enhancements, and continuous improvement projects
  • Perform special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as requested

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA
  • CPA certification or active eligibility to obtain CPA licensure
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP
  • Experience supporting multi-entity organizations or media, advertising, broadcasting, or professional services businesses
