Job Description

The Corporate Catering Manager is responsible for soliciting, selling, and servicing corporate catering events, with occasional social functions as needed. This role focuses on developing local corporate business, including one-day meetings, conferences, recognition dinners, training sessions, and other catered events. The Corporate Catering Manager is responsible for maximizing catering revenue while ensuring exceptional guest service and profitability. The position includes prospecting, client relationship management, event planning, contract preparation, and coordinating events with hotel departments.

Job Requirements:

  • Actively solicit and develop new corporate catering business within the local market.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and meet with prospective clients.
  • Coordinate all event details, including menus, room setups, audiovisual needs, and billing.
  • Prepare Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and catering agreements.
  • Maintain communication with clients and hotel departments before and during events.
  • Oversee assigned functions to ensure successful execution and guest satisfaction.
  • Build relationships through networking, Chamber of Commerce events, and community involvement.
  • Attend BEO meetings, departmental meetings, and required training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Catering.

Job Duties:

  • Manage incoming catering inquiries and client consultations.
  • Prospect for new business and maintain existing client relationships.
  • Maximize meeting space utilization and catering revenue.
  • Evaluate the profitability and feasibility of events.
  • Prepare contracts and event documentation.
  • Respond to inquiries within 24 hours and return phone calls promptly.
  • Collaborate with hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends as business demands require.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hotel or catering sales experience, preferably in corporate catering.
  • Strong sales, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with SalesForce/Delphi or similar Catering Management Software preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering outstanding customer service.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Assist the operational teams when needed
  • 4 Year College Degree
  • Minimum 3 years experience in catering sales for hotels or catering companies, with an emphasis on the social market.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and by phone.
  • Detail oriented and efficient in all work-related areas.
  • Experience with Delphi Management System very beneficial
