Cornerstone Caf Manager (Part-Time)

Position Summary

The Cornerstone Cafe Manager serves an important role in supporting the school community by overseeing cafe operations during school days. This individual helps create a welcoming and hospitable environment for students, and staff while modeling a Christ-centered attitude of service, stewardship, and teamwork.

This is a part-time position with hours primarily on M/W/F during the school day.

Reports to Head of School 


Key Responsibilities

Cornerstone Cafe Operations

  • Oversee setup, operation, and cleanup of caf during school lunches and special activities.  
  • Ensure caf is prepared, stocked, and ready to serve students and staff in a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting cafe area 

Inventory & Stewardship

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering of food, beverages, and supplies
  • Practice good stewardship by minimizing waste and managing resources wisely
  • Maintain organized storage areas and track supply usage 

Volunteer Coordination

  • Recruit, schedule primarily Senior students to work in the caf  
  • Provide clear instructions and training for caf procedures and expectations
  • Foster a positive, encouraging, and team-oriented environment 

Financial Oversight

  • Manage cash handling, point-of-sale systems, and sales tracking
  • Reconcile cash drawers and ensure accurate reporting each day
  • Maintain simple records of sales, expenses, and inventory 

Customer Service & Community Engagement

  • Create a warm, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere for students and staff
  • Serve students and staff with a Christ-like spirit of hospitality
  • Address questions or concerns with professionalism and kindness
  • Ensures students return to class in a timely manner

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, and cleanliness standards
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures
  • Reports any incident to one of the administration team

Qualifications

  • Experience in food service, retail, or event operations preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate volunteers effectively
  • Basic math and cash-handling skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
