POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mortgage Closer II is responsible for preparing closing packages and closing disclosures for secondary market transactions including preparing and requesting documentation needed for closing. This position provides required closing documents, funding details, and related instructions to closing agents. The Mortgage Closer II serves as a liaison between lenders, customers, realtors, attorneys, and internal teams, maintaining effective communication throughout the loan process. This position reports to the Mortgage Operations Manager and provides excellent service and support to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company's values and supporting the mission.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for preparing closing packages and closing disclosures for secondary market transactions including preparing and requesting documentation needed for closing
  • Prepare quality control reviews to verify all pre-closing conditions are received
  • Collaborate with processors and lenders to confirm requirements for loan approval are met
  • Review closing disclosure for accuracy in accordance with program requirements, underwriting instructions, and relevant changes
  • Review final disclosures to verify complete and accurate documentation
  • Distribute required disclosures to borrowers as needed
  • Provide required closing documents, funding details, and related instructions to closing agents
  • Assist in resolving customer and attorney questions or concerns
  • Complete post-closing process and collaborate with the post-closing department regarding investor/audit conditions
  • Respond to customer issues or concerns, recognizing when escalation is needed to improve the customer experience
  • Organize and maintain loan documentation, verifying files are complete, current, and compliant with regulatory requirements, internal policies and industry best practices
  • Serve as a liaison between lenders, customers, realtors, attorneys, and internal teams, maintaining effective communication throughout the loan process
  • Generate and maintain reports to monitor the status of loan applications, identify potential issues, and support decision making
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to refer banking products and services to the appropriate business partner
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks
  • Attend training as requested
  • Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program
  • Participate in outside community activities as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 years of previous mortgage experience preferred
  • Knowledge of mortgage regulations, compliance and industry best practices preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office to include Excel
  • Proficient with mortgage software and documentation systems
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while accomplishing daily tasks and meeting deadlines
