Job description

Job Summary

The physician is responsible for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the health problems presented by the patients.

Essential Functions

  • Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.

  • Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.

  • Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.

  • Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.

  • Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.

  • Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.

  • Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient / family advocate.

  • Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development / application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.

  • Actively works with Corewell Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.

  • LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
