Job description

Small Balance Lending | CoreVest

Position Summary

The Senior Sales Assistant (Originations Analyst) is a dedicated sales support professional responsible for maximizing the productivity of one or more Senior Relationship Managers (RMs). This role exists to remove administrative, operational, and sales support responsibilities from the RM, enabling them to focus almost exclusively on originating new business, developing referral relationships, and closing loans.

The Senior Sales Assistant serves as the RM's primary operational partner by managing pipeline activities, borrower communications, Salesforce administration, marketing coordination, application intake, and document collection. On larger or more complex transactions, the role also provides analytical support through cash flow modeling, loan structuring, and preliminary credit memo preparation.

This position is designed as a developmental role with the opportunity to grow into a Relationship Manager (Originator).

Primary Responsibilities

Sales Support & Pipeline Management (Primary Focus)

Provide comprehensive day-to-day support that allows the assigned RM to maximize time spent on prospecting and originating loans.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage inbound applications and coordinate loan intake.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for borrower follow-up throughout the application process.
  • Collect, track, and resolve outstanding documentation.
  • Coordinate with processing, underwriting, operations, and servicing teams to keep transactions moving.
  • Monitor pipeline status and proactively identify stalled files.
  • Maintain accurate Salesforce records, pipeline updates, and activity tracking.
  • Generate pipeline reports and assist with forecasting.
  • Coordinate calendars, prospect meetings, and follow-up activities.
  • Protect the RM's prospecting schedule by minimizing administrative interruptions.

Prospecting & Marketing Support

Assist the RM with business development activities by coordinating outreach and maintaining organized prospect management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain prospecting lists.
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns and referral partner communications.
  • Execute RM-approved borrower and referral outreach.
  • Re-engage inactive prospects and prior borrowers.
  • Track marketing activity and customer engagement within Salesforce.
  • Maintain accurate contact records and CRM hygiene.

Borrower & Relationship Support

Serve as the operational liaison for borrowers while allowing the RM to focus on relationship development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Respond to routine borrower inquiries.
  • Coordinate status updates throughout the loan process.
  • Assist with post-closing follow-up.
  • Coordinate extension and refinance opportunities.
  • Escalate relationship-sensitive matters to the RM when appropriate.

Credit & Analytical Support (Secondary Responsibility)

Support the RM and Underwriting on larger or more complex opportunities.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Prepare cash flow analyses.
  • Perform borrower financial analysis.
  • Assist with loan sizing and structuring scenarios.
  • Draft preliminary credit memoranda.
  • Gather financial information needed for underwriting.

These responsibilities are secondary to the role's core sales support function and are performed primarily for larger or more complex transactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in mortgage lending, commercial lending, banking, or financial services.
  • Experience supporting loan originators, sales teams, or relationship managers preferred.
  • Working knowledge of commercial or residential mortgage lending.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Salesforce or other CRM platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information.

Successful candidates will:

  • Increase RM prospecting capacity by removing operational and administrative responsibilities.
  • Maintain organized, accurate Salesforce records and pipeline reporting.
  • Deliver exceptional borrower service throughout the lending process.
  • Coordinate effectively across Sales, Processing, Underwriting, and Operations.
  • Assist in preparing larger, more complex loan opportunities without replacing the underwriting function.

A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role is $70,000-80,000. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors. CoreVest also offers a competitive benefit package including discretionary corporate bonus program, multiple health plans, STD and LTD options, company sponsored life insurance, fitness reimbursement, paid parental leave, time to volunteer, Paid Time off, ESPP, and 401K matching.
