Job description
SUMMARY
This position will support the sales team by supplying technical assistance and information having to do with installation, application and presentation of vinyl and aluminum siding products. Play a key role in the development of new and existing products, working closely with the R&D, Marketing, Business Development and Quality groups.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for developing installation methods for all vinyl aluminum siding products and act as expert for regarding all installation development and process
- Responsible for developing vinyl siding installation training programs including live seminars, installation manuals, and videos
- Conduct product installation training seminars for sales, marketing, contractors, and distributors
- Work closely with the R&D group to develop new and refine existing products regarding the installation piece of the product
- Assist in the testing of the products for code approvals, by installing new products in various testing facilities
- Work with warranty department as needed to resolve suspected and confirmed installation related claims
- Assist during plant tours, presenting product features and installation methods
- Involved in planning and developing display material for the sales team as needed
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced knowledge of exterior cladding products and the installation process
- Knowledge of standard building practices
- Excellent communication skills and group presentations skills
- Proven ability to interact with people of various backgrounds for the purpose of promoting products and the communication proper installation of the products
- Skilled mechanical abilities
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as installation instructions, product specifications and building code specifications
- Knowledge of reading architectural blueprints
- Technical writing experience for training documentation
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Corel Draw or equivalent is a plus
- VSI certified Installer/Trainer and Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and be a self-starter, self-directed
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to travel up to 50%
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Additionally, this position must make general decisions requiring judgement and perform activities requiring sustained concentration.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is sometimes moderate when working in an office, however, some of the work may be required in the operating units which mandate usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel and/or auto travel will be required.
