Position Overview Job Description: Montgomery County Data Processing currently has an opportunity for a qualified, highly self-motivated individual for full time employment as a Network Operations Engineer. This position is a key member of the Data Processing Technical team that will install and maintain network & systems hardware, Server operating systems, and related products as required. The selected individual will also help manage and configure the virtualization, firewall & networking systems for Montgomery County and be a team member in overseeing the Production & Disaster Recovery environment.

This candidate will also evaluate hardware / software and recommend purchases. Summary of Job Duties Key Responsibilities: Ensures the Firewall technologies are operational, optimal, secure and updated Ensure the VMWare environment is stable and error free Configure the county networking core infrastructure Troubleshooting of network, hardware and software problems Deployment of new Data Center hardware Oversee Data Center data backups Configure and maintain Cisco switches and Cisco routers Key player in Cyber security Troubleshoot help desk tickets and service requests Team member in working a weekly helpdesk rotation every two months Minimum Qualifications and Requirements Qualifications: Candidates should be proficient in the following technical areas: Good understanding of Computer Networking Microsoft Active Directory Technologies VMWare - versions 7.x, 8.x Microsoft Windows Server 2019 and later Microsoft Azure & Exchange On-Premise and Online technologies Candidates with the following skills are a plus: Fortinet Firewall Administration Cohesity backup solution Dell Powerflex Storage F5 appliance skills for load balancing Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and 3 + years of experience in IT or equivalent work experience required. CompTIA - A+ Certification, Security+ and Network+ Certifications are a plus
