Job description

Position Summary

Oversees workflow of accessioning staff activities to ensure thorough and efficient accessioning, processing of specimens and accurate data entry into the LIS. This position is also responsible for resolving issues related to missing or inaccurate data for specimens.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Supervise the production of data entry and accessioning

- Work beside accessioning team to accurately prepare specimens for testing and reporting

- Responsible for all aspects of managing the accessioning employees, including training, approving work schedules, and performing management

- Monitor logistics to ensure adequate supply of specimens to laboratory sections for testing

- Communicate effectively with our external lab partners and customers to resolve issues and answer questions completely, professionally, and in a timely manner

- Oversee workflow, safety, maintenance, cleanliness, and compliance with laboratory policies, procedures and safety protocols

- Ensure documentation is complete and reviewed

- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy

- Resolve any production errors as requested by management

- Resolve issues related to the receiving, testing, and reporting of sample orders within the lab correctly and with the right sense of urgency

- Work with the lab leadership in the development, documentation, and implementation of new Standard Operating Procedures

- Demonstrate professionalism with employee relations, new employee on-boarding, coaching and staff evaluation

- Responsible for enforcing and managing policies and procedures

- Must work collaboratively with others
