Job description

Library/Media Program Assistant

Hours: 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM Monday-Friday Under the director of the Librarian, performs necessary technical, clerical and support services to ensure an efficient, active school Library/Media program.

CIRCULATION job duties include, but are not limited to the following: checks library materials in/out to students/staff, checks out A-V equipment/media out to staff, generates and circulates overdue notices, distributes SCOE mailings.

ORDERING AND PROCESSING job duties include, but are not limited to the following: Checks in and processes books/computer equipment, maintains budget records, types P.O's for library/Media teachers.

OPAC job duties include; updating/editing computerized records for card catalog, keys in records for new materials, and generates spine labels for new materials.

MAGAZINES AND MICROFICHE/FILM job duties include; checks in/processes magazines/microfiche/film, files magazines/microfiche/film, and weeds obsolete magazines.

PATRON SERVICES job duties include, but are not limited to the following: assists students/staff to find instructional materials, maintains copy machine and orders supplies when necessary, cleans and performs simple repairs for A-V equipment.

EXPERIENCE: Experience in a library environment or other learning environment Experience with computers and A-V equipment EDUCATION: Equivalent to completion of 12th grade OTHER: Fingerprint clearance prior to employment TB clearance prior to employment
