OVERVIEW
Perfetti Van Melle (makers of Mentos, Airheads, Dentyne, Trident and Bubblicious!) is one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum with global brands that are being enjoyed in more than 150 countries worldwide. We're currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for supporting the execution and oversight of all daily operational activities related to domestic and international transportation. This role will successfully utilize and manage multiple internal and external partners to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation solutions. Specific responsibilities for this role include:
  • Monitor and manage operational activities for all transportation modes - domestic, international, transfers and customer shipments.
  • Investigate and identify root cause for late shipments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing and payment of all transportation invoices. Resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Process carrier freight claims and provide freight claim reporting.
  • Partner with Customer Solutions to find economical solutions for time sensitive shipments.
  • Coordinate and participate in carrier performance reviews.
  • Monitor KPIs, report any issues and recommend solutions for improvement.

WHAT WE NEED FORM YOU
  • Associates Degree or 2 years of relevant logistics experience. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of domestic and international mail and shipping processes.
  • Working knowledge of inventory procedures.
  • Basic understanding of transportation industry.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to establish priorities and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain concise and accurate records.
