Job Summary:

Join our team as a Cooling Tower Mechanical Technician, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of our cooling systems. You'll work with cutting-edge technology and a dedicated team to support efficient operations and contribute to sustainable energy solutions.

Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on cooling tower systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues in cooling towers and associated equipment. Repair or replace defective components, such as fans, motors, pumps, and valves.
  • Conduct regular cleaning and chemical treatment of cooling tower water systems to prevent scaling and corrosion. Monitor and adjust cooling tower controls and settings for efficient operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement improvements in cooling tower efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new cooling tower systems and components.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and other maintenance personnel. 
  • Perform emergency repairs and respond to cooling tower system failures promptly.
  • Keep up to date with the latest cooling tower technologies and maintenance practices.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of cooling tower systems, components, and operations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with cooling towers.
  • Experience with the installation and alignment of cooling tower components.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and practices related to mechanical maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with team members and clients.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts when necessary. 

Education and Related Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, specifically with cooling towers.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
  • Occasional travel.
  • On-site position/not remote
