The role:
The Cooling Specialist executes cooling workflows with chef teams in the CookUnity Facility. They ensure that cooling records are being completed and tracked for all items, and they measure performance daily.
Responsibilities:
  • Daily cooling workflows in operations
  • Oversee cooling logs completion for all items
  • Ensure that the plating of food is happening at the designated temperature
  • Perform critical checks, including temperature monitoring equipment
  • Executed batch cooling processes for all hot items during a shift
  • Ensure cooling and cooling records are ready for local regulators and third-party auditors.
  • Collaborate with the Food Safety team to deliver chef and employee training on food safety cooling practices.
  • Provide detailed reports on compliance status and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Track all metrics related to cooling
Qualifications:
  • Must be bilingual English/Spanish
  • Experience working in a high compliance food processing facility (USDA, FDA) or large volume food business with established food safety programs
  • Experience working with a team in a production environment
  • Good communication skills and ability to speak professionally to a wide range of partners and stakeholders
  • Ability to build relationships and explain food safety concepts in plain language
  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned duties without direct supervision
  • Proficiency G Suite/Google Workspace.
  • Team player with a positive, collaborative mindset
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to complete tasks in cold (coolers) or hot (kitchens) environments
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
