Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Efficiently operate and oversee all stations in the Sports Bar/ADR kitchen.
  • Ensure standardized recipes for the Sports Bar/ADR are followed.
  • Provide training to cooks, prep cooks and utility associates.
  • Maintain the flexibility to work any station and shift as required.
  • Provide guidance and direction to Sports Bar/ADR kitchen staff.
  • Ensure the kitchen area is always clean, sanitary and up to health code standards.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations.
  • Keep all food storage areas clean, organized, labeled and dated.
  • Ensure all equipment, tools, floors, workstations and food prep areas are clean and organized.
  • Work according to Sports Bar/ADR procedures.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with kitchen staff, chefs and other team members, maintaining a positive and professional work environment.
  • Lead team efforts, and ensure all tasks are accomplished.
  • Delegate duties and responsibilities as needed.
  • Understand and complete all assigned tasks.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Culinary Skills: Teach various cooking techniques including frying, sauteing, broiling, basting, baking, poaching and roasting.
  • Knife Skills: Teach proper knife skills, and ensure they are applied in the kitchen.
  • Sanitization: Teach proper sanitization techniques, and ensure they are applied to maintain a clean and safe kitchen.
  • Recipe Adherence: Ensure cooks understand and follow the standardized recipes for the Sports Bar/ADR.
  • Equipment Usage: Teach staff how to use all kitchen equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Food Storage: Teach staff how to keep all food storage areas clean, organized, labeled and dated.
  • Communication: Encourage clear communication among all kitchen staff and help foster a team-oriented environment.
  • Time Management: Help team develop strong organizational skills and a sense of timing to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Quality Control: Teach cooks to consistently produce high quality food products and to cook proteins to the desired temperature.
  • Stress Management: Provide strategies for working effectively in a stressful environment.
  • Professionalism: Encourage team members to maintain a well-groomed appearance and to work in a positive and professional work environment.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a full-service restaurant kitchen required.
  • Prior experience as a line cook preferred.
  • Experience in a leadership role is a plus.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES
  • Proficient culinary, knife and cooking station skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and sense of timing.
  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques including frying, sauteing, broiling, basting, baking, poaching and roasting.
  • Knowledge of proper sanitization techniques.
  • Ability to consistently produce high-quality food products.
  • Proficiency in cooking steaks to the desired temperature.
  • Proficiency in cooking all proteins to the required safe temperature.
  • Ability to efficiently perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to maintain a well-groomed appearance.
  • Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead a team and create a positive work environment.
  • Self-motivated, dependable and able to work independently.
UNIVERSAL REQUIREMENTS
