Reports To: Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hourly

Role Type: Full-time

Working Hours: This position requires flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Weekly hours will vary depending on business needs.

Job Summary: The Guest Service/Cook delivers fast, friendly, and accurate service while preparing high-quality food in accordance with Church’s Operating Standards Manual (OSM). This role focuses on exceptional guest satisfaction, food safety, cleanliness, and teamwork while ensuring operational efficiency in both front-of-house and kitchen areas.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:      

  • Greet all guests warmly with a positive, enthusiastic, and welcoming attitude
  • Take, prepare, and serve customer orders accurately within company-mandated service times
  • Suggestively upsell menu items and promotions as directed by management
  • Handle cash transactions and deliver completed orders to guests
  • Address guest concerns promptly and notify the Manager in Charge as needed
  • Report order errors, over-rings, deletions, or equipment issues immediately
  • Prepare and cook food products according to Church’s quality, safety, and holding time standards
  • Set up batter station, prepare batter mix, and organize required smallwares 
  • Monitor food rotation, product display, and holding times to ensure freshness and quality
  • Operate, filter, clean, and maintain fryers while following all safety procedures    
  • Stock service areas with supplies such as cups, lids, napkins, and beverages
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and display cases at all times
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support restaurant operations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

An ideal candidate will have experience with or understanding of:  

  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation.   
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and follow company procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude.        
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Education and Experience:

An ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:

  • Previous retail, food service, or customer service experience.
  • On-the-job training is provided for all new team members.

Working environment and physical requirements:     

  • Must be 16 years or older to apply 
  • Must be able to stand during the entire work shift.
  • Must be able to work in a cooler at a temperature of 35 degrees for up to 30 minutes. 
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.    
  • Must be able to tolerate gas fumes and cleaning products.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder to clean windows.

Travel: Must be able to travel up to 10%
