What is a cook porter?

Cook Porters, also known as kitchen porters, are essential members of a kitchen team responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Their duties typically include washing dishes, cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas, disposing of waste, and assisting chefs with basic food preparation tasks. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a cook porter, and why are they important?
