  • MUST HAVE VALID SHORT-TERM SUBSTITUTE TEACHER LICENSE ISSUED BY ISBE / MUST HAVE ASSOCIATES DEGREE OR 60 SEMESTER HOURS COMPLETE
  • MUST COMPLETE A TRAINING PROGRAM APPROVED BY THE SCHOOL BOARD
  • VALID FOR SUB TEACHING IN ALL GRADES OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS (PreK-12)
  • VALID UNTIL JUNE 30, 2023 AND MAY NOT BE RENEWED
  • CANNOT TEACH MORE THAN 15 CONSECUTIVE DAYS PER LICENSED TEACHER
  • CANNOT SERVE AS A PARAPROFESSIONAL ON THE SHORT-TERM SUB LICENSE

PAY SCALE FOR SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS
Substitute teacher pay is subject to the Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) Pension Fund. The TRS contribution will show as a 9% deduction on your check.
