Housekeeping PRN - Stonewall County Hospital District

This flexible position offers the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our community while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.


Key Responsibilities:

- Perform cleaning and disinfecting of resident rooms, common areas, hallways, and other facility spaces

- Ensure all cleaning tasks meet hospital and health safety standards

- Maintain proper use and storage of cleaning supplies and equipment

- Respond promptly to special cleaning requests and urgent sanitation needs

- Follow infection control protocols and safety procedures at all times

- Document completed cleaning activities as required


Skills and Qualifications:

- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred, especially in healthcare or senior living environments

- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness

Requirements:

Position: Housekeeping Department: Facilities Reports To: Director of Operations over Stonewall County Hospital District.

Job Duties:

1. Cleanliness and Sanitation: Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, including beds, furniture, and fixtures. Ensure surfaces, floors, and walls are clean, sanitized, and free from debris, stains, or odors.

2. Infection Control: Follow strict infection control procedures, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to hand hygiene protocols. Pay special attention to high-touch surfaces and areas to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.

3. Waste Management: Handle and dispose of medical waste, trash, and soiled linens in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines. Maintain proper separation and containment of different types of waste.

4. Linen and Laundry Management: Collect, sort, and launder linens, including bed sheets, towels, gowns, and blankets. Ensure an adequate supply of clean and folded linens is available for patient use.

5. Public Areas and Waiting Rooms: Clean and maintain public areas such as waiting rooms, lobbies, corridors, and restrooms. Regularly restock supplies, including paper towels, soap, and toilet paper.

6. Equipment and Supply Inventory: Monitor and restock housekeeping supplies, including cleaning agents, disinfectants, and equipment. Report any shortages or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.

7. Emergency Response: Assist during emergency situations, such as spills, accidents, or natural disasters, by promptly cleaning up and disinfecting affected areas.

8. Collaboration: Communicate effectively with nursing staff, maintenance personnel, and other hospital departments to address housekeeping needs and ensure a coordinated approach to maintaining cleanliness and safety.

9. Safety and Security: Follow hospital safety protocols and ensure that housekeeping equipment and materials are stored securely and used safely. Report any safety hazards or security concerns to the appropriate personnel.

10. Compliance: Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations, including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines, to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

11. Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities for professional development, stay updated on best practices in healthcare housekeeping, and actively participate in training programs or workshops provided by the hospital.
