Job description

We are seeking two experienced Conveyor Project Engineers. This is not a design/CAD-focused role; the primary emphasis is on project management and execution.

Engineers will be responsible for conveyor systems from initial design through startup and validation. A key responsibility is ensuring that suppliers meet conveyor standards and specifications (GCS1).


Required Experience & Skills

  • Strong background in automotive or transportation-related industries preferred
  • Experience with conveyor technologies, including:
    • Chain conveyors
    • Skid systems
    • Skillet systems
    • EMS (Electrified Monorail Systems)
    • Paint shop conveyors
  • Candidates with experience in one or two of these systems may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Experience in other industries will be reviewed individually; however, automotive experience is strongly preferred


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Mechanical Engineering (Electrical Engineering also acceptable)
  • Equivalent experience (e.g., ~20 years of hands-on conveyor or skilled trades experience) will be considered in lieu of a degree


Travel & Work Schedule

  • Up to 50% travel within the U.S.
  • May involve extended on-site assignments lasting several months at a time
  • GM policy typically allows periodic travel home (e.g., every other weekend)

Schedule:

  • Primarily first shift/day shift
  • Flexibility required for occasional nights, weekends, or off-shift support during system startups
