Conversion Rate Optimisation information

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in Conversion Rate Optimisation roles?

One common challenge in Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) is balancing quick wins with long-term strategic improvements, as stakeholders often expect immediate results from experiments and A/B tests. Additionally, CRO specialists frequently need to navigate conflicting opinions between marketing, design, and development teams while ensuring that data-driven recommendations are implemented effectively. Another challenge is obtaining sufficient traffic and statistically significant results, which can limit the speed and confidence of decision-making. Successful CRO professionals thrive by communicating clearly, prioritizing impactful tests, and fostering a culture of experimentation within their organizations.

What is Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO)?

Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) is the process of increasing the percentage of website visitors who take a desired action, such as making a purchase, signing up for a newsletter, or filling out a form. This is achieved by analyzing user behavior, testing different website elements, and implementing changes to improve user experience and encourage conversions. CRO involves strategies like A/B testing, improving website design, optimizing calls to action, and minimizing barriers to conversion. The ultimate goal is to maximize the effectiveness of a website and increase return on investment from existing traffic.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Conversion Rate Optimisation Specialist, you need strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of digital marketing principles, and experience with A/B testing and data interpretation, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, Optimizely, Hotjar, and other CRO platforms is typically required. Excellent communication, creativity, and problem-solving abilities help you collaborate with teams and design effective experiments. These skills are vital for increasing website conversions, enhancing user experience, and driving business growth through data-driven decisions.

Job description

At Postali, our work is rooted in a simple belief: when our clients succeed, we succeed.

We help law firms grow through thoughtful, strategic marketing tailored to real business goals. But just as important as our results is how we get there—together. In a fast-moving digital landscape, we rely on curiosity, collaboration, and a willingness to learn from one another. As a 2023 Columbus Business First Best Places to Work winner, we’re proud to be building a supportive, caring workplace where people feel valued, challenged, and excited to grow. We’re looking for teammates who want to do great work with good people—and who care as much about each other as they do about performance.

Postali is seeking an entrepreneurial-minded Paid Media Specialist to join our team. This in-house position, based in Columbus, Ohio, offers an exciting opportunity to drive high-impact advertising strategies that help law firms grow. This is not a remote position.

We’re looking for someone who’s not just a platform executor but a strategic thinker who wants to own outcomes. Compensation and title will align with experience, we’re open to candidates at different levels and care most about finding the right fit.

THIS IS AN IN-HOUSE POSITION. APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUTE TO OUR OFFICE LOCATED IN COLUMBUS, OHIO.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategize and execute campaigns across paid search, display, remarketing, paid social, geo/IP targeting, and paid directories.
  • Monitor and optimize campaigns daily to meet cost-per-conversion targets and maximize ROI.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, developers, content writers, and the Client Experience team to ensure campaigns are aligned with client goals and messaging.
  • Provide strategic input during new business opportunities by supporting the Business Development team with media recommendations.
  • Manage attribution tracking through tools like Google Analytics and call tracking platforms.
  • Analyze campaign performance, prepare reporting dashboards, and generate insights for internal and client-facing use.
  • Innovate processes to improve operational efficiency and scale what works.
  • Engage with media/technology vendors to stay informed of platform changes and opportunities.

What We Need:

  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience, preferably in an agency environment.
  • Proven success running paid media campaigns across Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), and programmatic platforms.
  • Strong CRO skills, including experience with tools like Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, CrazyEgg, or similar tools, and a deep understanding of how to drive post-click performance improvements.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing data and making strategic decisions based on campaign performance.
  • Comfort using and experimenting with AI tools to boost efficiency and support campaign ideation, automation, and insight generation.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset — you see opportunities in data, challenge assumptions, and take ownership of client success.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to partner effectively across departments and support client-facing teams.

Great to Have:

  • Working knowledge of SEO and how it intersects with paid media.
  • Experience working with WordPress or similar CMS for landing page testing and edits.
  • Exceptional copywriting skills for ad creative and messaging testing.
  • Ability to create attractive assets in Canva
