Job description

We are seeking a talented engineer to drive the convergence of 5G NR and Wi-Fi 6 technologies. In this role, you will design and implement software solutions that enable efficient and secure communication between these technologies in ad-hoc settings. Your work will contribute to the development of a unified mesh networking layer, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of experience in wireless networking, telecommunications, or distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of 5G NR sidelink, Wi-Fi 6, and IEEE 802.11s technologies, especially in ad-hoc modes.
  • Familiarity with 3GPP standards, including 5G sidelink modes, ProSe, and dynamic resource allocation.
  • Proficiency in C++, C, and Python for developing networking and distributed systems software.
  • Experience with Linux development, Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, and build tools.
  • Knowledge of IP networking, mesh networking, multi-hop routing, and network performance optimization.
  • Understanding of EAP-TLS authentication, certificate-based systems, and secure communications in wireless environments.
  • Experience in debugging and troubleshooting distributed systems, especially in wireless networks.
  • Familiarity with wireless simulation tools and private wireless or enterprise networking systems is preferred.
  • Develop software for 5G NR sidelink and Wi-Fi 6 ad-hoc connectivity, treating wireless links as direct transport links.
  • Implement 5G NR sidelink communication in Modes 1 and 2, enabling direct device-to-device communication.
  • Support multi-hop sidelink and Wi-Fi ad-hoc communication scenarios, ensuring dynamic resource pool management.
  • Build a Layer 3 mesh networking layer over 5G NR and Wi-Fi links, handling routing, mobility, and path selection.
  • Develop interworking between sidelink modes and coordinate with ProSe functions for device discovery and coordination.
  • Implement unified security mechanisms using EAP-TLS for authentication across wireless domains.
  • Design dynamic configuration management for distributed wireless nodes, supporting real-time updates and synchronization.
  • Work with 5G NR gNB and UE stack concepts, integrating sidelink procedures into the broader system architecture.
  • Support mobility in dynamic wireless environments, optimizing routing for latency, reliability, and throughput.
