Job description

Job Description

The Catering  Manager is a leadership position which leads all aspects of catering solutions and special events at the Reno Sparks Convention Center as well as the Reno Events Center and National Bowling Stadium.

  • This position will lead the Catering team to complete events or catering delivery requests in line with customer expectations and service standards.

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $68,000 to $72,000. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer.  This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

    Assist clients in planning special events and providing creative solutions to clients' needs

    Connect with the customer to define events enabling the creation of Banquet Event Orders to meet the customer expectation.  Offer additional food or drink services to the customer to encourage an up-level experience.

    Create Banquet Event Orders once event is defined.
    Deliver consistent quality in planning and carrying out even by scheduling adequate materials and labor including scheduling employees and confirming availability of materials.  Facilitate the delivery of prepared food and set up of events crafted from banquet event orders
    Train and lead catering employees to ensure catering and event standards are followed ensuring quality in final presentation
    Provide completed Banquet Event Orders to team and provide quality assurance all requests are met prior to event 
    Responsible for delivering food and labor targets 
    Responsible for execution of catering events of varied size and scope including staffing and management
    Ensure accurate reporting of all catering related revenue, expenses, and receivables
    Recruit, train, schedule and develop team members 
    Ensure compliance with all food, occupational, and environmental safety policies

Qualifications

    Requires at least 2 years of experience 
    Prior experience in a management or supervisory role preferred
    Previous experience in events, hospitality and catering preferred
    Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    Available to work event-based hours 
    Must have excellent communications skills
    Complete Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required
    Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lb.
    Ability to stand for extended periods of time
