About This Role

You will play a critical role in supporting datacenter multi-region projects, ensuring consistent adherence to technical project portfolio standards, schedules, and deliverables. Success in this role requires close collaboration with the HQ Datacenter Team, Project Managers, Regional Engineering Managers, and branch hardware and software engineers to effectively address project challenges and maintain alignment across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering oversight and support across assigned regions, ensuring alignment of priorities, timely delivery of milestones, and adherence to project portfolio standards.
  • Review and validate regional engineering outputs, including BAS Long Lead Equipment (LLE) submittal packages, full control drawing submittals, system/area-specific BOMs, as-builts, O&Ms, Description of Operations (DOOs), graphics, control sequence scripts, and other assigned project deliverables. Provide support to other regions as needed.
  • Maintain and monitor regional engineering activities and open items using ASANA, ensuring visibility and accountability across teams.
  • Partner with the HQ Engineering Manager and HQ team to develop control drawings, refine design templates, and modernize legacy systems using the Engineering Design Suite (EDS).
  • Generate timely and accurate Requests for Information (RFIs) and Parts Substitution Request.
  • Document and communicate the building automation system design and revisions.
  • Adhere to project requirements and company and customer standards of design, programming, and implementation.
  • Clear communication and proactive expectation setting with manager and project teams both internal and external.
  • Adherence to safety standards. High regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Model ethical conduct in accordance with the Carrier Code of Ethics.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support team and organizational goals.
  • Design and program advanced building automation systems, including site-specific configurations and control algorithms using the WebCTRL software suite.
  • Develop intuitive graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems using Eikon and ViewBuilder.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in HVAC, Building Automation, or Controls systems.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% (domestic and international).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or construction discipline with 8+ years of industry experience, or an associate degree with 10+ years of experience, preferably in data center environments.
  • Experience interpreting architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, BAS, EPMS, and civil drawings and project specifications.
  • Skilled in reviewing, authoring, and recommending enhancements to sequences of operations for comprehensive building automation. Proficient in advanced functions of building automation software and engineering tools, with preference for Automated Logic WebCTRL software.
  • Ability to provide direction and guidance to other team members.
  • Strong time management skills including the ability to accurately estimate time required to complete tasks and deliver on the committed timeline.
  • Able to write and suggest modifications to existing sequences of operations for common HVAC systems and control methodologies.
  • Thoroughly understands electrical and mechanical building systems.
  • Capable of designing and programming all but the most complex projects executed by Automated Logic.
  • Ability to concisely, accurately, and effectively request clarifications to technical or scope information via a formal RFI process.
  • Competent, proactive verbal and written communicator, able to translate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Well organized and able to balance multiple concurrent priorities by communicating and negotiating due dates and deliverables with the project teams.
  • Ability to condense complex technical information into a comprehensive and clear set of design documents in a way that is easily understood and followed by project teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Visio and Automated Logic's EDS (Engineering Design Suite).
  • Working knowledge of BAS communication protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, N2), with the ability to design and troubleshoot integrations.
  • Strong aptitude for problem solving even when troubleshooting remotely.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Possess and maintain valid and current form of government issued identification.
  • Ability to report to assigned work location reliably.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise IP networks, including layout and troubleshooting.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 10% of average workweek, including air travel, overnight hotel stays, and unexpected travel when required.
  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation

Thisposition is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
