Job Title: Controls EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer responsible for planning, designing, and programming projects related to the installation and operation of Direct Digital Control (DDC) and building automation systems. This role acts as a technical liaison between the design team and the field/project management team.
Responsibilities
- Design all hardware and software components according to project documentation, ensuring a complete and functioning system while adhering to engineering standard practices and guidelines.
- Develop programming for the operation of HVAC mechanical/electrical equipment per design documents, including DDC at the equipment level and graphical implementation in both 2D and 3D at the upper-level front-end GUI.
- Research equipment compatibility, determine product quality, and assist in enhancing current system designs.
- Collaborate closely with project management to ensure the accuracy of sales estimates, including post-sale re-estimation to assist with budget management.
- Assist the project manager in developing accurate engineering time estimates and schedules, ensuring projects are completed on time and deliver a quality product.
- Coordinate material orders with the purchasing department.
- Provide customer training as needed.
- Offer input and feedback to the Operations Manager and collaborate with team members through active communication.
- Assist with equipment startup, point-to-point checkout, commissioning, and project turnover.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective actions, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
- Assist with bid document preparation and presentation, including technical data, Visio drawings, submittals, O&M’s, and as-built drawings as per project requirements.
Essential Skills- Engineering degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Three to five years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with the operation of energy management systems, HVAC systems, temperature controls, and process control systems.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Windows and MS Office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- People skills and customer service orientation are essential.
Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a typical office environment with visits to customer offices and job sites. Frequent outdoor travel is required to visit customers. During job site visits, there is occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
