Minco is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design, develop, and optimize control systems for our manufacturing processes. This role focuses on motion control, test & data acquisition, SCADA, and safety of automated equipment while contributing to continuous process improvement and innovation.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and optimize control systems to automate manufacturing processes, ensuring operational efficiency and minimal downtime.
  • Develop and program PLCs, HMIs, and other automation hardware for seamless integration into production systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, minimizing disruptions to production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and quality departments, to improve process control and system performance.
  • Provide technical support for new equipment installations and upgrades, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for control systems, including diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in automation technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical, Control Systems, or related Engineering field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in control system design, automation, and implementation, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with PLC programming, HMI design, Ignition Inductive Automation / SCADA systems, SQL, C/C+, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus). LabView proficiency is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in control systems, instrumentation, and automation.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and compliance regulations (e.g., NFPA 70E, OSHA).
