Job description

We’re hiring a Building Automation Designer / Project Manager to help design and deliver smart building systems using Tridium Niagara, Distech, and Honeywell. You’ll be part of a team that creates solutions to monitor and control HVAC systems for comfort, efficiency, and performance.

This role is primarily office-based, focused on design, coordination, and programming—but it also includes regular opportunities to visit job sites, see your work come to life, and get hands‑on when needed. You’ll use basic hand tools, assist with commissioning, and collaborate directly with technicians in the field. It’s the best of both worlds: the structure of an office role with the variety and real‑world connection that fieldwork brings.

This position is open to a wide range of experience levels. Whether you’re early in your career or already managing full projects, we’ll support your growth and give you the tools to succeed.

  • Design HVAC control systems and select the right parts and layout for each project
  • Help develop or write control sequences and logic for DDC controllers
  • Program and configure building automation software (Niagara, Distech, or Honeywell)
  • Coordinate with internal teams and contractors during installation
  • Perform or assist with testing, startup, and commissioning
  • Create drawings, point lists, and documentation for the job
  • Troubleshoot system issues and support project closeout
  • Provide training and support to end-users after project completion
Job Qualifications

We’re looking for technically minded individuals who enjoy problem‑solving and are eager to grow.

You might be a fit if you have:

  • A background in HVAC, electrical, mechanical systems, or building controls
  • Experience in the field or classroom (trade school, associate’s, or engineering degree)
  • Familiarity with control systems like Tridium, Honeywell, or Distech — or interest in learning
  • Basic understanding of HVAC equipment and control theory
  • A willingness to work with a team and learn new technologies
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage tasks from start to finish
Additional Skills That Set You Apart
  • Comfort with reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, or network schematics
  • Previous hands‑on BAS or DDC system experience
Why Join Us

This is more than just a job — it’s a long‑term career opportunity in a growing industry. You'll work with a team that values initiative, supports your growth, and gives you real responsibility as you learn. Whether you’re just starting out or ready to lead, we want people who take pride in their work and enjoy figuring things out.
