Job description

Hermeus is a venture-backed defense aviation company reclaiming the lost art of rapid iterative prototyping to build the fastest aircraft in the world today. By prioritizing relentless hardware iteration, we deliver high-speed systems at the pace of the modern battlefield. We work with the Department of War to provide the high-speed capabilities our nation and its allies need to maintain a durable, asymmetric advantage.
About The Role:
As a GNC Engineering Intern, you will support the development of guidance, navigation, and control systems for uncrewed high-speed aircraft. This role focuses heavily on controls development, algorithm implementation, and testing.
Fall: Around 16 weeks (August - December)
Responsibilities:
  • Support the design, implementation, and testing of guidance and control algorithms for uncrewed high-speed aircraft
  • Assist in developing and tuning control laws for flight vehicle stability and performance
  • Implement and validate control algorithms in simulation and test environments
  • Support analysis of test data and help refine control system performance

Requirements:
  • Pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong background in controls, dynamics, and feedback systems
  • Experience with control system modeling and simulation
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or similar tools used for controls development
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles
  • Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • GPA of 3.0 or above

$25 - $33 an hour
The hourly rate listed for this internship is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on degree level.
