Job description

NSC Skilled Trades is hiring Apprentice Electricians for a lighting retrofit project at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.


Project Details:

  • Location: Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA
  • Start Date: August 3
  • Duration: Through February 27
  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday
  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (40 hours/week)

Job Duties:

  • Remove and replace existing lighting fixtures with new LED fixtures and retrofit kits
  • Install drivers, occupancy sensors, and lighting controls
  • Complete wiring, terminations, and minor circuit modifications
  • Troubleshoot 120V and 277V lighting systems
  • Read electrical drawings and fixture schedules
  • Test lighting systems to ensure proper operation
  • Work safely from ladders and scissor lifts while following NEC and jobsite safety standards

Requirements:

  • Washington State Electrical Training Certificate required (mandatory)
  • Previous commercial electrical experience
  • Lighting retrofit or LED installation experience preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and identify electrical circuits
  • Must have electrical hand tools and PPE
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work from ladders/lifts
