Job description

Perform all aspects of building and grounds maintenance. Perform all duties as assigned, on call at all times, attend related training as required in Apprenticeship Standards. Installations, repairs and preventive maintenance of the following areas.
This position pays $18.00 an hour.
Essential Functions:
  • Electrical-New electrical installations and hook-ups, preventive maintenance, trouble-shooting, controls, and repairs.
  • Plumbing-Water and pneumatic installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Includes all types of piping (galvanized/copper/PVC, etc.).
  • Heating and Air Conditioning-Repairs, preventive maintenance, duct-work, trouble shooting and sheet metal work.
  • Grounds-Landscaping, snow removal, maintenance of portable equipment, traffic control, preventive maintenance, and mowing.
  • Motorized Equipment-Preventive maintenance and repair of trucks, trailers, etc.
  • Building Construction-New installations, remodeling and preventive maintenance of ceilings, walls, floors, sub-structures, and super-structures.
  • Safety-Hazard recognition, corrective procedures, OSHA regulations.
  • Special Equipment-New installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs of specialized equipment such as furniture, etc.
  • Miscellaneous-Equipment movement, relocation, and/or expansion, logistics, transportation, etc.
  • Welding and cutting including cast iron and special metals.
  • Evenings and some weekends. Hours may vary.
  • Maximum of 25 hours per week.

Minimum job requirements (education, experience, and skills) required to perform essential functions:
  • High school diploma or its equivalent (GED).
  • Proven experience in the building trades.
  • Physically able to perform the duties of the position.
