SUMMARY:

The Electrical Apprentice (3rd & 4th Year) supports the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial electrical systems while working under the supervision of a Journeyman Electrician. This role combines hands-on field experience with formal apprenticeship training, allowing team members to develop advanced technical skills and prepare for career progression toward Journeyman status. Apprentices gain experience with electrical distribution systems, motors, controls, generators, instrumentation, and industrial equipment while maintaining compliance with company safety standards and applicable electrical codes


SkillsandRequirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.\
  • Completion of a state-approved apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and electrical code specifications.
  • Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, motors, controls, transformers, generators, and power distribution equipment.
  • Knowledge of testing electrical equipment for voltage, continuity, current, and resistance.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, conduit bending, wire termination, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
  • valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 51 pounds and work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in Indianapolis or Columbus, Indiana

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit and wiring.
  • Troubleshoot electrical failures and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings.
  • Assist with installing motors, transformers, generators, controls, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Build and assemble control panels and controllers.
  • Test electrical systems and equipment for proper operation.
  • Organize materials, maintain tools, and ensure job site safety.
  • Support Journeyman Electricians on commercial and industrial projects.
  • Prepare for and successfully obtain Journeyman licensing.
