Job description

Title: Controller

Location: Linden, NJ

Compensation: $120K-$150K base


Our client, a growing private aviation company, is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to oversee core accounting operations and support the organization’s broader financial planning and reporting efforts.


This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with strong accounting fundamentals who can take ownership of the close process, financial reporting, cash management, and accounting operations while also helping improve internal processes and systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and overall accounting accuracy
  • Manage and support the monthly close process, including journal entries, adjustments, and depreciation schedules
  • Prepare monthly and year-to-date financial reporting, variance analysis, cash flow reporting, and forecasts
  • Partner with senior leadership on annual budgeting, recurring forecasts, and financial planning
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections and efforts to minimize aged receivables
  • Analyze spending and vendor costs, identifying opportunities for savings, consolidation, and greater efficiency
  • Support annual external audits by coordinating documentation, providing financial support, and explaining accounting processes and reporting
  • Help develop new internal reporting and strengthen financial controls across the organization
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting operations, including billing automation and system/API integrations
  • Oversee the employee expense reimbursement process and related systems


Ideal Background:

  • 3+ years of accounting experience at the Controller/Assistant Controller level
  • Corporate accounting experience with strong knowledge of the month-end close and financial reporting
  • Experience with accounting systems, AP/AR, collections, payments, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and communicate financial insights to leadership
