About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and finance functions for a growing manufacturing organization. This leadership role is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, compliance, and strategic financial planning while partnering closely with executive leadership to support business growth and operational performance.


Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the accounting department and oversee all day-to-day accounting and financial operations
  • Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to executive leadership to support strategic decision-making
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
  • Coordinate and manage annual financial audits and ensure timely completion of audit requirements
  • Manage banking relationships, including lines of credit, treasury activities, and other financial services
  • Oversee standard costing systems and ensure accurate product costing within the manufacturing environment
  • Manage capital expenditure planning, financial justification, and project tracking
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements, including sales tax and 1099 reporting
  • Oversee risk management activities, insurance programs, and financial compliance initiatives
  • Provide oversight for business technology systems that support financial operations and reporting
  • Lead and develop the accounting team through coaching, performance management, and professional development
  • Participate in strategic initiatives, financial modeling, and special projects that support company growth


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience, preferably within manufacturing
  • Previous experience leading accounting teams and managing financial operations
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
  • Experience with standard costing in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Experience managing audits, tax compliance, and banking relationships
  • Private equity-backed company experience is a plus
  • MBA and/or CPA designation preferred
  • Strong analytical, leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed
