INTERIM CONTROLLER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage and review preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team while supporting day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition practices for subscription-based and recurring revenue business models.
  • Review and strengthen internal accounting controls and financial processes.
  • Partner closely with Finance leadership to improve reporting accuracy, forecasting inputs, and operational visibility.
  • Supervise account reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet reviews to maintain financial integrity.
  • Support preparation of board-level financial reporting packages and management reporting deliverables.
  • Assist with audit readiness activities and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
  • Evaluate accounting workflows and recommend improvements to streamline processes and reduce manual work.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance on technical accounting issues and assist with implementation of new accounting standards when applicable.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with prior Controller or Assistant Controller level responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing close processes and leading accounting teams.
  • Prior exposure to high-growth or scaling environments where processes and systems are evolving.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and strong Excel capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly assess financial operations and implement improvements where needed.
