Summary
This National Guard position is for a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, Position Description Number D1255000 and is part of the NJ CSMS 1, National Guard.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

Duties
Help
As a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, GS-1152-9, you will:
  • Establish plans and schedules for maintenance and repairs
  • Responsible for data input of work order information, status changes, and supply updates
  • Prioritizes resources to ensure the highest level of readiness
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
Areas of Consideration: CAT 3
All New Jersey Army National Guard members (M-Day, Traditional, and Drill-Status Guardsmen)
Military Grades: E-4 to E-6
Applicant(s) (Enlisted) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade
Additional Employment Requirements:
-Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
-May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
-Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation
-Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments
Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a *military unit* compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position.
*Military Unit* The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1)
PRE-PLACEMENT PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: A pre-placement physical will be required for anyone selected for this position. Placement into the position will not be made until results are received
You may be required to successfully complete a 1- or 2- year probation/trial period to assess performance, conduct, agency needs, public interest, and efficiency. Employment ends unless certified in writing that it advances the agencies interest.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 24 months experience performing the following:
  • Prepare job or work orders
  • Schedule various phases of projects into the production facility
  • Oversee the progress planned and arrangements for adjustments in materials, and machines
  • Use of automation support programs to input data and provide status of equipment
  • Monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, and track repair parts status
