Vista Metals, Inc. is an established tungsten carbide manufacturing company located in Elizabeth Township, PA. We are seeking a capable, hands-on Controller to lead and manage our accounting function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who wants to take ownership of financial operations in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across both higher-level financial oversight and day-to-day accounting responsibilities.

Job Summary

The Controller will direct and have responsibility for the organization?s accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, the preparation, promotion, and interpretation of financial reports for management and external stakeholders. This position will direct internal controls, annual forecast, financial reporting, and budgetary controls. Supervise accounting staff; assign, direct, and evaluate their work.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Management

  • Prepares and/or analyses reports, which summarize business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, cash flow, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Plan, develop, organize, implant, direct, and evaluate the Company?s fiscal function and performance
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager and General Manager to develop/further improve operational tracking and reporting systems.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager in maintaining updated costing and pricing metrics to provide the Sales Team with reliable metric for customer pricing and company profitability.
  • Responsible for inventory valuation and management of stock levels to meet demand forecasts and strategic objectives.
  • Coordinates the annual insurance renewals for employee benefit plans and business insurance.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a stable work history, bachelor?s degree in accounting and solid progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment. This person should be comfortable in a hands-on Controller role where they are responsible for both managing the accounting function and directly supporting key day-to-day accounting activities.

We are looking for someone with strong logical thinking skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of the accounting function. The right candidate will be interested in growing with the company and improving the way the accounting department operates over time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar role.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with Employee benefits preferred.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with management
