We’re looking for a Controller for our corporate office on the Northshore. Our company is growing rapidly, and every team member plays a key role in that growth. Position Description:

The Controller will be responsible for utilizing their strong accounting knowledge and thinking outside the box when it comes to performing their duties and responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both public & corporate accounting, financial management, and regulatory reporting. They will be tasked with managing multiple priorities including ensuring the financial data is processed timely, accurately, and efficiently.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day finance operations including functional responsibility over accounting.
  • Month end closing process by evaluating account balances and preparing any necessary journal entries.
  • Continually Improve and optimize systems and procedures. Initiate corrective action plan as needed.
  • Develop team members by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training and feedback, and maintaining strong employee relationships
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements to present to senior leaders and owners of the company.
  • Maintain professional and timely communication with vendors, customers, and internal team members.
  • Collaborate and build effective relationships with other departments.
  • Perform other responsibilities and projects as needed.
  • Organized a fixed asset schedule including more detailed information and implemented an inventory system


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Masters’ degree or CPA a plus
  • 5+ years of experience as an accountant or in an accounting related function required
  • 2-3 years of public accounting experience is a plus
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting software
  • Desire and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel required
