Job description

Our client, a leading provider of innovative solar energy solutions, is seeking a Temporary Assistant Controller to join their dynamic and growing team. This is a contract opportunity ranging from six months to one year, with strong potential for permanency based on performance and business needs. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional to take ownership of a developing finance function. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing financial processes and systems, collaborating closely with the development and operations teams, and contributing to overall business growth—while benefiting from ongoing mentorship, resources, and organizational support.

Pay Rate: $95,000 to $115,000 (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records, including performing regular account reconciliations.
  • Manage and oversee intercompany transactions, including reconciliations, settlements, and ensuring accurate and timely recording in accordance with accounting policies and applicable standards.
  • Experience with implementing cloud based ARP
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and management reports.
  • Manage and support tax filings and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting, monitoring, and financial planning activities.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines and accuracy standards are met.
  • Manage full-cycle accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the operational and development teams to support business initiatives.
  • Assist with process improvements, system enhancements, and financial controls.
  • Contribute to special projects and perform ad hoc analysis as required.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in an accounting or finance-related role.
  • Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting systems; familiarity with Xero is considered an asset.
  • High level of attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
