ControllerAbout the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and finance function during a period of operational growth and business transformation. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance leader who thrives in fast-paced, project-driven environments and enjoys developing teams, optimizing processes, and partnering with operations to drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Drive improvements to close timelines, reporting accuracy, internal controls, and financial processes.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll accruals, indirect tax filings, and corporate reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, U.S. GAAP, SOX, and internal reporting standards.
  • Partner with operational leaders on project accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Support ERP optimization, master data governance, and reporting enhancements.
  • Contribute to strategic business initiatives while maintaining strong day-to-day financial operations.
Required Qualifications
  • CPA designation required.
  • 7+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience at the Controller, Finance Manager, or equivalent level.
  • Experience within construction, pipeline, industrial services, oilfield services, energy services, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of SOX compliance, U.S. GAAP, and IFRS reporting standards.
  • Experience with master data management and governance.
  • Proven track record of modernizing accounting processes and implementing automation initiatives.
  • Experience working with large-scale ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and operational accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within a subsidiary of a publicly traded organization.
  • Experience supporting pipeline service providers or project-based industrial operations.
  • Multi-jurisdictional payroll experience.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled productivity and reporting tools.
  • Experience with Eclipse ERP.
