First Financial Bank has an immediate opening for a Corporate Controller at the Corporate Office located in El Dorado, Arkansas.
The Corporate Controller is responsible for directing and managing the Bank's accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information. This position oversees general ledger administration, financial statement preparation, regulatory and management reporting, budgeting support, audit coordination, tax administration, and accounting policy compliance. The Controller is responsible for maintaining effective internal controls, supporting strategic financial initiatives, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements, and supervising and developing Accounting Department personnel. The Controller serves as a key member of the Finance leadership team and supports executive management in achieving the Bank's financial and operational objectives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Additional coursework or experience in finance, asset/liability management, budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis is a plus. CPA license required. Minimum seven years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility and financial reporting experience. Banking or financial institution experience is strongly preferred. Must have a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct and oversee all internal and external financial reporting. Manage the monthly close and financial statement process. Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts. Oversee account reconciliations and internal controls. Coordinate external audits and regulatory examinations. Oversee budgeting and forecasting support. Provide technical GAAP and regulatory accounting guidance. Coordinate tax reporting support, communications with tax advisors, and state tax payments. Supervise, develop, and evaluate Accounting Department personnel. Oversee accounting support for CECL reporting, IRR and Liquidity reporting, and yield analysis. Present reports, analyses, and recommendations to executive management and ALCO.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and general ledger accounting. Working knowledge of banking operations, asset/liability management, budgeting, forecasting, tax administration, and financial analysis. Demonstrated leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
