Job description

Leidos Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler & Controller to join our Strategic Project Consulting team within our Power Delivery Solutions division. In this role, you will support a large electric utility client in the Pacific Northwestern US. This is an in-office position based out of either Portland, Bend or Medford, OR, depending on the location of the selected candidate. As the project controller, You'll play a key role in driving creative Project Management Solutions for Leidos' utility client, providing support to the PMO group for project scheduling and controls functions. The position will focus largely on construction scheduling, work planning, and project tracking. At times, the position will also need to be able to help with and maintain project forecasts and material tracking.

Key Responsibilities willl include:
  • Developing, maintaining and driving engineering and construction schedules for various projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utility client
  • Work with Project Management using earned value management techniques to ensure that schedule and costs are aligned, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits
  • Partner closely with Project Management, Engineering Leads, Managers, Construction teams, and other client stakeholders to track and execute client deliverables
  • Develop and produce schedule weekly/monthly project control reports for client and internal management review: which includes resource loading analysis and schedules, critical path items and risk analysis
  • Interfacing directly with the client on a daily basis to report progress, schedule and risks across a portfolio of electric utility projects
  • Assist the project manager with the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project dashboard reports and KPI tracking
  • Supporting project teams with material tracking

Required Qualifications:
  • Mid-Level: 4-7 years of relevant projet scheduling experience
  • Senior-Level: 7-10 years of relevant project scheduling experience (Pay ranges will be commensurate with candidate experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a closely related discipline is required
  • Demonstrated experience working with scheduling software such as Primavera P6
  • Must have the capability to plan, organize, direct, and track technical efforts on project tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to interact with customer representatives in an effective manner
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task effectively

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with electric power infrastructure projects and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services
  • Experience working with US electric utilites
  • Demonstrated success with a team approach to the consulting business
