The typical salary for a Controller varies depending on factors such as location, industry, and company size, but in the United States, the average annual salary ranges from $100,000 to $160,000. Larger organizations or those in major metropolitan areas may offer higher compensation, while smaller companies may pay less. Controllers often have significant experience in accounting and frequently possess certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant).

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a controller in accounting?

To thrive as a Controller in Accounting, you need a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and typically a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or finance, often accompanied by a CPA or CMA certification.
