 Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability
  1. Maintain robotic paint processes in the Paint department.
  2. Maintain procedures and equipment to improve efficiency and first time yield capability.
  3. Drive continuous improvement actions.
  4. Work with Paint Supervisor and Process Engineer on process and engineering changes.
  5. Participate in Corrective Action Plan development, implementation and follow-up as quality problems occur.
  6. Evaluate and improve techniques to reduce downtime and improve the life of equipment.
  7. Document all activities as required.
  8. Provide support and maintain compliance with all company guidelines, union contracts, TS16949, ISO14001, and all applicable government regulations and standards.
  9. Any additional responsibilities deemed necessary by management.
  10. Mentor junior paint process technicians with on the job training experience
  11. Perform robot adjustments as needed to improve quality of parts
  12. Perform PMs and repairs to robots and paint system as needed
Basic Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment that offered the opportunity to gain a well-rounded background in injection molding.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Knowledge of:

  • Customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture.
  • Paint processes and tooling, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Paint viscosity in relationship to paint reduction with different types of reducing solvents.  
  • Design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production.

 Skills:

  • Pass paint process technician amplitude test/manager evaluation showing skill and ability level
  • Use of computers, preferably in a G.U.I. or PC, Windows-based operating environment
  • Organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Support management in implementing short and long-term goals.
  • Obtain the skills to track production OEE through measuring first time quality, utilization, and efficiency.
  • Determine the kinds of tools and equipment needed to do a job.

Ability to:

  • Maintain processes, systems, and procedures with in the paint department.
  • Communicate effectively, orally and in written. 
  • Maintain systems necessary to collect, to maintain, and analyze data.
  • Identify problems, and help implement solutions.
  • Maintain processes that meet production targets and customer quality requirements.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Learn/gain knowledge

 

Health, Safety and Physical Demand Requirements

  • The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
  • Ability to work in both a non-climate controlled manufacturing and office environment.
  • Upper body mobility is required along with the physical requirements of lifting, carrying and pushing/pulling.
  • Must be able to stand 90% of the time with frequent walking.
  • Lift using one or two hands up to 90 lbs.
  • Occasional use of forceful abilities from 1 to 30 pounds during the duration of the shift.
