Job description

Engine Control Systems Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)Introduction:

This position involves designing, developing, and validating electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices to optimize engine performance and emissions. As part of the Large Engine Controls team in the Large Power Systems Division, you will be responsible for creating and testing control strategies specific to LPSD engines. This role requires applying knowledge of engine systems, dynamic feedback control theory, simulation, and testing to meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with process partners to develop and refine engine control system requirements.
  • Utilize expertise in engines and dynamic feedback controls to design and evaluate control features.
  • Develop and maintain Matlab/Simulink and GT-Power-based Model-in-Loop (MiL) simulation framework for control algorithm design and verification.
  • Analyze and present data using advanced analysis and visualization tools such as Vector CANape, Matlab, and Python.
  • Deliver timely, high-quality simulation-driven design analyses and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements:Education and Experience Requirements:
  • A Bachelor''s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering is required; Masterโ€™s Degree Preferred.
  • Professional experience in dynamic feedback control theory applied to design and analysis of spark-ignited engine control systems.
