Job description

Job Summary (Systems Engineer)
- Apply principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to design, develop, test, and evaluate software and systems.
- Analyze user needs and develop software solutions to meet those requirements.
- Work through the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, functional specification, development, testing, and delivery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, making changes as necessary.
- Support product development teams, focusing on the integration of software and hardware for autonomous machines.
- Collaborate with systems integration and validation teams for engineering product development and validation of autonomous solutions in lab and real-world settings.
- Decompose complex customer requirements into actionable technical requirements for system components.
- Work on production products from design and implementation through customer rollout and ongoing support.
- Utilize knowledge and experience with autonomous systems (preferably Cat Command systems) and construction equipment (e.g., articulated dump trucks, hydraulic excavators, wheel loaders).
- Integrate systems over CAN and Ethernet.
- Maintain strong knowledge of client command ecosystems in mining or construction, and centralized control system architectures.
- Stay current with advancements in autonomy and mining industries.
- Communicate complex concepts effectively to team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Document designs, requirements, and success criteria to ensure alignment.
- Use data-driven arguments and tailored messaging to influence decisions and achieve stakeholder consensus.
- Provide mentoring and constructive feedback to team members as needed.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
