Job Summary
The Deepwater Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling offshore production systems from the central control room on a deepwater facility. This role ensures safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operations by monitoring process conditions, responding to alarms, coordinating with field personnel, and supporting production optimization. The operator plays a key role in daily operations, start-up and shutdown activities, troubleshooting, and emergency response.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and operate production systems through DCS, SCADA, and ESD systems.
  • Maintain safe and efficient oil, gas, water handling, compression, and utility operations.
  • Monitor pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and equipment performance.
  • Respond to alarms and process upsets and coordinate with offshore operations personnel.
  • Support well startups, shut-ins, routing changes, and production adjustments.
  • Complete shift logs, production reports, and operational handovers.
  • Participate in emergency response and follow all company safety and environmental procedures.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and operational support as needed.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of offshore oil and gas operations experience.
  • Deepwater offshore experience preferred.
  • Experience with DCS/SCADA and emergency shutdown systems.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore production and compression systems.
  • Ability to read P&IDs and follow operating procedures.
  • Current offshore certifications such as TWIC and HUET preferred.
