Job Title: Panel Builder

Job Description

This role focuses on building electrical control panels from start to finish in a climate-controlled shop environment. You will use hand and power tools, follow electrical schematics and layouts, and ensure all wiring meets established electrical standards while maintaining a neat and organized panel build.

Responsibilities

  • Build electrical control panels from start to finish, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to specifications.
  • Use hand and power tools to fabricate, assemble, and complete control panels.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, layouts, and blueprints to wire panels accurately.
  • Wire control panels by routing, terminating, and labeling wires and cables according to established electrical standards.
  • Route and bundle wires and cables neatly to maintain a clean and organized panel layout.
  • Perform drilling and panel preparation as needed for mounting components and routing wiring.
  • Carry out electrical assembly tasks, including installing components and hardware within the control panels.
  • Collaborate with onsite engineering teams to clarify questions on schematics and resolve design or wiring issues quickly.
  • Follow shop safety practices and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Work overtime as needed, in line with production demands, while maintaining quality and attention to detail.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2+ years of experience building electrical control panels from scratch.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and layouts.
  • Hands-on experience with control panel wiring and electrical wiring.
  • Ability to perform panel building and electrical assembly using hand and power tools.
  • Skill in routing, bundling, and organizing wires and cables according to electrical standards.
  • Experience with drilling and panel preparation to support component mounting and wiring.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain neat, accurate wiring within panels.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Overtime is available, with some employees working up to around 58 hours per week, including about 14 hours of overtime. The shop does not require safety glasses or steel-toe footwear under normal conditions, contributing to a more relaxed dress environment while still maintaining safe practices. You may listen to music with earbuds while working, allowing for a focused and enjoyable workday. The floor hosts a small team of panel builders, creating a collaborative environment where engineering support is readily accessible.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
