Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to support large-scale capital projects within the utility sector. This role will play a critical part in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with effective risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project controls functions across scheduling, cost management, and risk analysis
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones and deliverables
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts, and budgets; identify variances and recommend corrective actions
  • Implement and manage risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies
  • Partner with project managers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to drive project performance
  • Prepare and present project status reports, KPIs, and executive-level updates
  • Support continuous improvement of project controls processes and tools

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project controls management experience supporting capital projects
  • Background in utilities required (power generation, transmission & distribution, or similar infrastructure)
  • Strong experience in project scheduling, cost control, and risk management
  • Proficiency with project controls tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar)
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site environment

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field
  • Experience supporting large, complex utility or energy projects
  • PMP or related certification is a plus
